We live in a digital age full of distractions where we are reachable and accessible 24/7 and this puts a lot of pressure on our brain that never gets to rest or reload. Our overloaded and overstimulated brain causes many to experience burnout and stress and it happens A LOT. So much that WHO predicts that stress and depression will be one of the largest disease factors in 2020*. This of course has not only an effect on the person suffering from this, but also the whole organisation. Nonetheless, companies and employees are expecting and demanding more from themselves than ever before. However, businesses around the globe are becoming aware and are now looking to prevent 'shit from hitting the fan' and to grow their employees wellbeing and happiness through more holistic ways. Mind Your Business was created out this need - a need to want to help businesses and their most valued assets - their employees.
Our aim is to provide employees with techniques and tools they can apply in their everyday worklife to regain capacity, so they can start functioning at their utmost potential. Studies namely show that not only does a mindful practice decrease stress and anxiety it can literally change our brain. Focus and productivity starts increasing along with our ability to multitask, be creative and to think outside the box. With a mindful approach to daily life we are able to gain greater happiness as the parts of our brain responsible for emotional regulation increases. Additionally, the parts of our brain responsible for memory and executive decision making thickens allowing us to be more effective at work*.
